How to Apply

There is no formal application for the University Scholars Scholarship. Once we receive the required AP scores and/ or UTPA concurrent enrollment grades, you will automatically qualify. However, it will be helpful for you to do the following as early as possible during your senior year in high school:

  • Submit an Entering Freshmen Application for Admission to the University of Texas-Pan American, request your AP scores to be sent to UTPA and complete all regular admission requirements. Once we receive the required AP scores (usually in July), we will confirm your scholarship.
  • Although there is no formal application for this scholarship, we ask that - in a separate letter attached to your Application for Admission- you identify yourself as a prospective candidate for the University Scholars Program.
  • (Optional) In order to help us package other scholarships and financial assistance that you may be eligible to receive, please file a UTPA Scholarship Application as well as the FAFSA application (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). (click here  to download FAFSA applications)
