General Information

The Federal Work Study (FWS) program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. This program allows you to earn money to help pay educational expenses and also encourages community service work and work related to your course of study.

The FWS salary will be at least the current Federal minimum wage, but it may be higher depending on work responsibilities, the work skills needed and the funding level at UT Pan American. If you are employed at UTPA through the work study program, you will be paid directly and once a month.

Work study employment may be on/off campus. Off campus employers are normally a private non profit organization or public agency, and the work performed must be in the public interest.
