Military: Assigned to Duty in Texas

Program Purpose

To provide a waiver of nonresident tuition to a non-Texas member of the U.S. Armed Forces and Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service as well as to their spouse and dependent children, while they are stationed in Texas.  For more information visit the states website: www.collegefortexans.com.

Qualifications

To be eligible to apply for this program a student must be an individual who is a member of the U.S. Armed Forces or Commissioned Officers of the Public Health Service from states other than Texas or be the spouse and/or child of a member.

Award Amount

This program permits nonresident students to pay tuition and fees at the resident rate.

It is limited to Texas public colleges and universities.

Application Process

The student must provide the college with proof of current assignment to duty in Texas. The student may contact our the Student Financial Services Office at 956-292-7298 for information on claiming this exemption.
