Exemption for Highest Ranking High School Graduate - Valedictorian

Program Purpose

To recognize and award students for graduating at the top of their classes in high school.  For more information visit the states website: www.collegefortexans.com

Qualifications

To be eligible to apply for this exemption the student must: 

1) Be the highest ranking graduate in their senior class

2) Be a Texas Resident, Non-Resident, or Foreign Student

3) Graduate from an accredited high school in the state of Texas

Award Amount

The exemption covers tuition for the fall and spring semester immediately following the student’s high school graduation.  Fees are not covered.

Application Process

The student must provide a copy of the certificate that his or her high school has given them indicating that they are the highest ranking high school graduate of that high school to the Student Financial Services Office.  Certificates are given to the student by the high school counselor.
