Frequently Asked Questions

Concurrent Enrollment

If I am currently enrolled with UTPA and STC will I be eligible for financial aid at both schools?

You cannot get financial aid at two schools within the same semester. You will need to contact the Financial Aid Office at the school that you plan to get your degree from (home school) and inform them that you are concurrently enrolled. Verification of concurrent enrollment cannot be done until after the 12th class day. Once verification is confirmed and it is determined that you are eligible for a Pell grant, then the Pell grant is adjusted according to the total number of hours enrolled between both schools. If UTPA is your home school and you are interested in applying for a student loan or participate in the work-study program, you must enroll for at least 6 credit hours at UTPA.
